If a player steps of the tee box on his/her tee shot is there a warning for the first time and then a penalty for any additional foot faults? _________________ PDGA# 30737

A stance violation must be clearly called within three seconds after the infraction to be valid. The call may be made by any member of the group or an official. When the call is made by a member of the group, it must subsequently be confirmed by another member of the group. A player shall receive a warning for the first violation of a stance rule in the round. Subsequent violations of a stance rule in the same round shall incur a one-throw penalty.
Must be called within THREE seconds of the violation!!!!! _________________ Regards,

Does the official have to be a tournament official or any PDGA recognized official?

If a golfer in the group is carrying his/her officials card and is playing in the same division as the violating golfer, then that golfer can not act as an official. However, with that being said. If an individual who is walking with the group is carrying an officials card and not playing in the tournament, it is my understanding they can call the violation.
I hope this answers your question Sunshine! _________________ "Grip it and Rip it" |

Anyone can call a rule violation, if there is questioning on a rule and there is a Certified Official in the group he cannot make a ruling the TD, or another Official has to make the call. I have gotten the RULE BOOK out several times and read rules and then told the group what I thought from reading the rule and seen if they (my group) also agrees ,and then made calls that way. Do you have any examples of a sceniro, ruling, or a call in question? Having this on the board and continuing discussion on this topic may help the players who are not as familiar with the rules. Also may be able to start some arguments. |

The reason I started the post came from when Jay and I were playing a casual round and I slipped off the front of the box. It was obvious and both of us knew that I did. I wasn't sure if I had to take a stroke or not. _________________ PDGA# 30737

If the disc is already out of your hand before falling off the tee pad then there is no violation. Even if you had not let go, the first offense would only be a warning, which would allow for a re-tee which may change the outcome as I am sure if you fell off the tee at the same point as you where driving who knows where it ended up.
Same thing applies when you jump putt and are with in the 10 meter mark. Carfull calling these violations if the individual has missed. You may give them a second chance at making it _________________
