Matt...Timmy's advice is spot on. Clearing some of the vines strangling the trees off the sides of the Tee pad help out the greenscape and beautify the hole, but we can not make the hole substantially easier.
However, as we discussed, there are now some pretty big vines growing up around the oak dead center and just in front of #3's pad.
I will check with the Board to ask about giving them a trim as they now affect an already narrow tee shot.
Thanks again for your willingness to help out. There are still a bunch of orphan holes that need some love.

Hey Matt... I have communicated with Joey and Tim and they agree that the vines on the back side (North) of the little oak straight ahead from the tee pad can be removed as long as you do not remove any shrubs or bushes from the front of the oak tree. It would also be nice to remove the vines from the small twin oaks on the right front aspect of the tee pad.
Thanks again for your interest in adopting this beautiful hole. I'm sure she will reward you appropriately at the Jacksonville Open after spending time bonding with her (I worked on #12 on Saturday and then lucked into CTP the following day in doubles)

I know that we cleaned up a lot of vines on 8 when we had our work day.
When the next work day comes around - come on out - I will work with you to tackle the vines on the course that do not impact play.
I HATE those darn vines. They are life sucking parasites that should be removed. _________________ Never argue with an idiot....They drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience |
